After taking several tests that covered: political, economic, environmental and social issues, it has come to my attention that I have a moderate left bias on topics. I previously believed that I was more towards the center on the political spectrum with a slight left bias. According to “Rate Your Own Bias” I have a very descriptive result ” Your Self-Rate Bias is: Leaning Left. Good Work!”
Thankfully there are several other websites that are slightly more informative. These include “The Political Compass” and “8values” both of these are similar sites that ask similar questions. On both I ended up with a left leaning bias, According to “8Values, I tend to favor things such as Equality, a peaceful world, civil liberties and progressive values over things such as markets, a peaceful nation, an authoritative government, and traditional values.

Finally, the results from “The political compass” this website chose an interesting graph to compare test taker results to historical figures from the past. A few of such figures include Hitler, Stalin, Thatcher, Friedman and Gandhi. Personally, I scored closest to Gandhi than the other figures. In other words, I am a left leaning libertarian.
I, as most people tend to do, like to think that I am open to different values, cultures and governments. If it works for you, and you’re not trying to convince me to change my ways, do what you will.
According to Google’s dictionary definition, a libertarian is a person who advocates civil liberty or a person who believes in the doctrine of free will. I tend to agree with most left leaning arguments, but I recognize the definite need for Government regulation in certain aspects of our modern lives such as roadways/ public transportation, schools, and environmental concerns. For example, at one point in history the Cuyahoga river was literally on fire because of how much gunk and trash was in it. Frankly I appreciate being able to enjoy nature without the ‘minor’ distraction of it being on fire.
